When it comes to having a Clean and Colorful Kitchen, I whole heartedly believe that there are a few must have kitchen items to make your Clean and Colorful Kitchen complete.
These gadgets make life so much easier! Whether it’s measuring food or prepping veggies to make a low carb pasta, I’ve got you covered. Now that I started the Clean & Colorful Kitchen meal prep service, I’m not sure what I would do without these items!
Ah the food scale. Such an underutilized tool. A huge component of weight loss is eating the proper quantities of food for your body. Obviously you can figure these things out by measuring food with measuring cups, but that’s a pain in the butt and not always accurate depending on what you’re measuring.
With a meal prep service, I’m pretty sure I’d go absolutely insane without my scale. It’s just so easy to put the container on the scale, toss each item in the container, and move along rather than measuring everything with cups. It’s less mess and fuss overall.
Even if you aren’t into measuring your food, a scale is the perfect tool for baking and cooking any recipe that requires specific amounts of your ingredients.
A food scale can range in price, but you really don’t need anything too fancy. My little Ozeri food scale does the trick even for big jobs such as The Clean & Colorful Kitchen.
Spiralizers – the must have kitchen gadget for making veggie noodles. I don’t care if it’s zucchini noodles, squash noodles, or any other type of noodle. If you’ve ever tried to make these bad boys without a spiralizer you will understand the need for one.
These little gadgets will make a pile of noodles in the time it takes you to break down one zucchini without the frustration. For the every once in awhile zucchini noodle maker, I suggest getting a hand held spiralizer simply because they work well and are cheap.
For those of you with a zucchini noodle obsession or the desire for a more robust spiralizer, I suggest giving a hand crank spiralizer a whirl. Either way, making your own veggies noodles is tons of fun, and adds so much nutrition and color to your dishes!
If you’re into making your own smoothies, salad dressings, skinny cocktails or soups, you should look into getting a decent blender. I’ve used everything from no name blenders to a Vitamix, and let me tell you, power makes the difference between a pulverized carrot and carrot chunks in your smoothie.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you have to go out and drop $500 on a blender, but investing in a decent blender will make a night and day difference when it comes to making goodies in the kitchen.
Give the Ninja blender a try. It’s under $100 and has tons of power to make those smoothies just the way you want them.
