Video Post: The Two Best Time Saving Smoothie Tips Ever!

You probably know by now that smoothies are pretty awesome and a great way to take your healthy lifestyle on the go. I mean, you can put everything in a blender and take your high quality, health boosting, Clean & Colorful meal with you anywhere your busy life leads you. But these time saving smoothie tips can make it even easier!  This is an awesome value proposition if you’re someone who wants to eat better, but struggles with finding the time. That’s where I come in and I have two great tips today to make getting in a daily, high quality, plant powered smoothie…even easier!

The time it takes to make your smoothie obviously depends on your ingredients. It doesn’t take that long but I’m going to share my two tips so that you can cut down your smoothie making time even more and help make smoothies a more reasonable part of your life.

The Clean & Colorful Solution:

  4. Exercise 21+ minutes.

My Two Best Time Saving Smoothie Tips Ever

Right now I have about six Clean & Colorful ingredients for my morning go-to breakfast smoothie. This is not quite a big deal because it used to be about ten! Here is your first time saving tip:

Tip#1: Use a good protein powder!

Protein powders will range from calories, cost, protein content and source, product quality and even other added benefits. I have a full post here on the 6 things you need to consider when picking the right protein powder for you.  But this is a new product I’ve been working with, Skinny Shake and it is my mew favorite time saving product.  This one delivers value far beyond being a simple protein powder. I love it because:

  • It has 16g of protein and 140 calories.
  • It has probiotics so I don’t have to have my probiotic pill.
  • It has digestive enzymes already included.
  • It has some added fiber and flax powder, which I used to add separately.
  • It’s essentially a multivitamin with 25 vitamins and minerals.
  • Loaded with other super foods with antioxidant benefits like kale, spinach, blueberry, gogi berry powder and more.
  • Has chlorella, spirulina and iodine, all things I’m keeping an eye because of my thyroid right now.
  • It’s sweetened with natural sugar so I don’t have any fake sugar running through my body.
  • It tastes good! Comes in chocolate or vanilla.

Tip #2: Make smoothie bags to keep in the freezer

I maximize my meal prep time in the kitchen by making smoothie bags because all the ingredients are stored in different places; oats stay in the cupboard, spinach in the refrigerator, coconut oil in a different cupboard, and bananas and blueberries stay in the freezer. And so it takes a few minutes to get all the ingredients and their relative scoopers together.

I cut down my smoothie making time by just pulling all the ingredients together and pre-packing them in five smoothie bags. I then store them in the freezer. So all I have to do is empty it into the blender with ice and water and put it in my smoothie jar.

It takes me about 5 mins to prepare the smoothie bags and I’ll have my smoothies ready to go for the whole week! And it’s going to have not just protein in it (from the protein powder) but it’s also going to have all the extra added fiber, the phytochemical benefits from the bananas, blue berries and spinach, and healthy fats from coconut oil. Just a few more minutes at at time and me and my meal prep clients are set to go for the entire week.
