Woot Woot! We are on a roll! The 30 Day Move a Mile Challenge was nothing short of inspiring every single day! Seeing photos of people’s feet, routes, pets, friends, family, treadmill dashboards and GPS screen shots was so fun! It has been an AMAZING group and we moved literally thousands of miles over the month. Not that that habit is built, it’s time to move on and challenge ourselves in a new way…ARMS!
We are also launching our very first diet challenge ever as well! And by “diet” I mean it by the traditional sense of the word of “food and drink considered in terms of its qualities, composition, and it’s effects on health.” Not in terms of restriction. We are going to try adding the Juice habit to this evolving healthy lifestyle we are focused on building. Check that out here and do them both if you’re up for double challenge duty!
Now back to the Arms Challenge – Let’s get RID of the JIG as my friend Trish always says!
Should you choose to accept the 30 Day Arms Challenge, this is what you will do:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 100 Push-Ups
- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 50 Triceps Push-Ups + 50 Triceps Dips.
- Sunday: Move a Mile (because you already do anyway, right?)
- As always, you do not need to do all 100 exercises all at once. Just get in 100 throughout the day. As the month goes on, you will get stronger and do more per session. It’s part of the fun!
We’re going to alternate every other day here to give the muscles of focus a little rest. Push-ups work everything a little, and we don’t want you hammering your triceps every single day and not giving the fibers a chance to pull themselves back together. We are using only body weight, so you shouldn’t experience too much pain, but don’t’ be surprised when you screech a little when you pull on those Fall sweaters over your head next month! But in a good way only please 🙂
For those of you who know, Triceps pushups are NO JOKE! Neither are dips or push-ups. So this will be a hard challenge, and you will see results!

Me TOO!! My tracker is printed 🙂
Sandy
when I try to subscribe for the tracker, it says that my email address is already subscribed. But I do not have the tracker. Is there another way to retrieve it?
Teresa
Hi Sandy! It was sent in an email on the 28th, but I just sent it to you again! Cheers!
Kate
Is there something I can do to sub the dips? That is the only thing I am unable at this time to do.
Teresa
You have many options! What is the limitation with the triceps dips? Do you have a resistance band? And more triceps pushups are always an option too!

Your timing is perfect!! My husband and I just booked a Caribbean cruise, I have exactly 60 days to fine tune!!
Teresa
Kim that is awesome! I’m so glad you found the challenge and you’ll get to rock out tank top trim arms on your cruise! Next month we’ll fine tune your core with another abs challenge 🙂 Woot!

Hi Deborah – Yes!! Those are a great variation to the triceps push-up! It’s actually the Level 3 variation of the move in the 21-Day Fitness Challenge (http://www.coloryourselfskinny.com/21-day-fitness-challenge/) — thank you for sharing!
Brandie

Teresa
Yay Trish – you’re so smart to get on it now — enjoy!!
Trish
I “tried” to do 100 push ups, only made it to 80. No worries I am not giving up on this challenge. However I do have one question. When I do the regular push ups I am feeling it in the back of my arms. Is that right? I was thinking it would work out my triceps.
Thanks for you help
Teresa
Hey Trish! I don’t think you should feel the least bit bad about “only making it to 80!” That’s great! Push-ups are an all over body exercise, which is part of what makes them so awesome. The area that feels it the most is likely the area that needs the most work, so I don’t think its too odd you’re feeling in your triceps –however, because there is soooo much that can go down/wrong with form, I’d suggest you have a trainer take a peek at how you’re looking. Just to be on the safe side, since you’re just getting started. Enjoy and keep it up!
