Looking for Health and Fitness Writers:

News Flash: Things are going to be a little different on Eat. Drink & be Skinny next month!

If you’re a reader, you have more amazing information to look forward to! If you’re a health and fitness writer, you may have an opportunity to share your stories with the community. In short, I’m on a mission to make this site bigger, better, smarter and more useful to more people, all while maintaining the core values on which it was originally built.

Writers Wanted

A little back story here…

Well this is exciting, I’m actually tackling something on my to-do list! For month’s I’ve seen the opportunity to make Eat. Drink & be Skinny an even better resource for more people seeking better health and more happiness. I’ve been in the blog-o-sphere for just over three years now and I’ve learned quite a bit since the early days. One of the most striking things I have learned is that there are so many outstanding, talented, witty and experienced health and fitness writers there are creating an abundance of information. They are truly dedicated to their charge and contribute such valuable information to the web. And they (we) do it all with the **hope** that someone is reading.

I’d like to share these stories with you. You get more, useful information, their message reaches a broader audience and I can write fewer, higher quality posts. It’s truly the definition of win-win-win. Read on for how I plan to bring this crazy idea I had into reality…

How Eat. Drink & be Skinny got started

I was born to work in health and wellness, so I studied nutrition in college and I spent the majority of my career in big-box corporate weight loss. In 2009 I wrote a book called “SkinnyTinis — All the Fun for Half the Calories.” It was the very first low calorie cocktail book and I signed all of them “Eat. Drink & be Skinny.” In 2012, when the book came out in paperback, I saw this as an opportunity to expand the conversation beyond skinny cocktails. There is quite a bit more that makes up a happy, healthy and well balanced lifestyle and I was ready to talk about it! You can read a little bit more about it in this short video where I talk about how this blog got it’s name.

What Eat. Drink & be Skinny has done

Over the course of 3+ years I’ve published over 500 posts to help illustrate the possibility of health and happiness working together in a fun, realistic and positive way. I’ve shared recipes, workout ideas, training recaps, 30 day challenges, tips, strategies, things that have worked for me, things that have worked for my clients and the occasional race or product review. Phfew! That’s a lot, in fact I had no idea it was that much…

I’ve threaded my own story through a lot of my content because I want you to know I’m a real person, but ideally, I didn’t want Eat. Drink & be Skinny to be about me. My original goal was to create a resource for people who are looking for quick, actionable tips and strategies to find better health and more happiness, delivered in a light hearted and realistic manner. Yes, it’s been my blog, but it’s always been about your success.

What Eat. Drink & be Skinny will do

It’s going to keep doing what I’ve been doing but on a larger and broader manner. Yessss! I want to collaborate with the other amazing health and fitness writers in the community and open up the Eat. Drink & be Skinny web-ways to them. I’ll still be writing here, quite a bit in fact. I’ll also be sharing info my personal site, Teresa Marie Wellness, that is more specific to my coaching programs. Rest assure, Eat. Drink & be Skinny is about to become your one stop media resource for useful, actionable health and wellness information.

If you’re a reader…

You’re going to get more information from different perspectives and experiences, but with the same thoughtful goal. And you’re going to get it more often! I’ve been pretty good about publishing articles three times per week. Depending on the response I get from writers, you can expect to see at least one, if not two more stories per week from at least two different perspectives.

If you’re a credible, experienced health and fitness writer…

I’d love to hear from  you! Please review the details on the contributor page and fill out the form if you’re interested in sharing your work on Eat. Drink & be Skinny and I will follow up with you ASAP!
