Holiday Cocktails on the Lighter Side

Merry Christmas! I must say that I do love a good holiday cocktail.

I like a cocktail as much as the next gal (if not more) so I can’t teach you to cut out the holiday cocktails. But I can show you how to cut some serious calories!

Using some traditionally not so skinny ingredients, I pulled together three new holiday cocktails for you all!

You may have already tried my Skinny Eggnog Cocktail with a Kick where I showed off a few of my simple secrets. Below are three more ideas using the same concepts.

You can see that by balancing things that have nothing to do with the word “skinny” (i.e. eggnog, Baileys and whipped cream) with some little low calorie swaps (i.e. coffee, light almond milk and Silk’s Holiday Nog) you can still do some pretty cool stuff and come out with a cocktail under 150 calories!

Whether you’re sipping at home with your sweetie, looking for an satisfying dessert style cocktail or planning a party — I’ve got you covered this holiday season!

Bulleit Bourbon NogTini

  • 1.5 oz Bulleit Bourbon
  • 2 oz Silk Holiday Nog
  • 1.5 oz Light Almond Milk
  • dash Pumpkin Pie Spice

Holiday Cocktail Bourbon NogTini

Directions: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 5-10 seconds, strain, serve, cheers, enjoy!

Caloires: Recipe makes one 5oz martini with about 140 calories.

Salted Caramel Coffee Cocktail

  • 1 oz Ketel Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Salted Caramel Baileys
  • 2 1/2 oz Light Almond Milk
  • 1 oz Coffee
  • 3 Coffee Ice Cubes
  • 2T Whipped Cream

Holiday Cocktail Salted Caramel

Directions: Fill an ice tray with coffee and freeze. Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with regular ice. Add coffee ice cubes to highball and strain cocktail, top with whipped cream, serve, cheers, enjoy!

Calories: Recipe makes one 5oz cocktail for about 150 calories.

Festive & Skinny Spiced Wine

  • 1 bottle Red Wine
  • 3/4 cup Bulleit Bourbon
  • 1 1/2 cup Orange Juice
  • 2 1/4 cup Apple Cider
  • 1 Apple (sliced)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 12 fresh cloves

Directions: Add all ingredients to a large pot and simmer on low for 20 min. Strain into a pitcher or punch bowl and serve slightly warm, cheers, enjoy!

Calories: Recipe makes 12, 5oz servings with about 110 calories each.
