July Lunge Challenge – 30 Day Challenge Series

It’s that time again…time to start thinking about a new challenge for July!

We kicked off strong in May with the Push-up Challenge, which was also carried into June with some success!

June we rolled into the Abs Challenge, and had over 1300 people commit to that series, also with some great results.

So how do we keep the  momentum going — challenge the body in a new way! It’s time to move south and pay some respect to our lower limbs and rock out July with the LUNGE CHALLENGE!

What will it look like? Well, simple…Lots of Lunges a day for 30 days. But let’s make it more interesting and challenging and break it down like this:

  • 30 Forward Lunges (alternating legs) Image A
  • 20 Right Lunges Image B
  • 20 Left Lunges Image B
  • 30 Reverse Lunges (alternating legs) Image C
  • As many jump/switch lunges as you can do!

The “as many of X” as you can do at the end of a series is a great way to measure your growth throughout a challenge. Push-ups were easy. Nobody can do 100 pushups straight, so it was easy to measure your progress through the grown in reps at one time. For the abs challenge, we had the team hold a plank for as they could after the series. People went from just 10 second holds to over minute  and some from 3 to 8 minutes in just 3 weeks. Unbelievable, and part of what makes these challenges so motivating. Not just the commitment and improvements, but the camaraderie and support. It’s contagious.
