Finding healthy, unprocessed snacks to take on the go can be rather difficult at times. Once you add in a high protein requirement it gets even more difficult. Let’s face it, if you’re looking for a high protein on the go snack we’re pretty limited to protein bars and powder.
That’s where this protein packed trail mix recipes comes in! I love this recipe for so many reasons. We replace the traditional stick of butter used to make homemade trail mix, with protein packed egg whites. We also used a variety of nuts and cereals for that high fiber, healthy fats, and protein combo that will keep you going strong for hours!
Overall, this trail mix recipe is a must that your family will love.
Wait, did you say egg whites?
Yep, you read that right! This recipe calls for AllWhites® 100% liquid eggs whites. We love using AllWhites® in this recipe since you count on the carton to be filled with 100% real liquid egg whites – no fillers.
AllWhites® are also the perfect substitute in this recipe since they are naturally high in protein, and they are cholesterol and fat free. And since we already packed this recipe full of carbs via cereal and pretzels, we like that AllWhites® liquid egg whites are pretty much carb free.
Just a quick side note, even though we’re baking this recipe, AllWhites® liquid egg whites can be consumed without cooking first since they are pasteurized for safety!
I was blown away by this concept. This means that you can add liquid egg whites to shakes, salad dressings, and no bake recipes without worrying about getting sick. Maybe you’ll find a protein shake recipe using egg whites on the blog soon!

I agree with you on the egg whites. Such a perfect way to get your protein in. I love that you can cook them or consume right away. That makes it so much easier. I would definitely make some mini egg frittatas with spinach, bacon and gouda! starla.batesATyahoo.com

I don’t use egg white much, usually just the whole egg. I do love trail mix, though.

Truthfully, I’m not a fan of eggs unless they are baked into desserts or breakfast foods like pancakes, waffles or French toast! But, my wife and kids love making omelettes and breakfast sandwiches with egg whites.
