Skinny Recipe: Meatless Tacos

Even if you’re not a vegetarian, reducing your meat intake just one day a week can have a considerable impact on your health. It can increase life expectancy while reducing the risk of heart disease, cancer, obesity and diabetes. And if every American ate meatless just one day per week all year it would be the equivalent of taking ½ million cars off the road.

If something as simple as swapping a plant-based, meatless product in your favorite dishes is good for not just your body, but also the planet, then why not give it a shot?

Skinny Meatless Tacos

  • 1 cup Gardein The Ultimate Beefless Ground
  • 1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Chili Powder
  • 2 T Vegan Cream Cheese
  • 2 T Chunky Salsa
  • 1/2 cup chopped Fresh Spinach
  • 2 – 6” Whole Wheat Tortillas

Directions:

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet and add beefless ground on medium to high heat. Sprinkle with seasoning. Cook until browned and thoroughly heated (about 4-5 min).
  2. In a small dish, mix together vegan cream cheese and salsa.
  3. Assemble your tacos: scoop half of the meatless ground into one tortilla. Top with salsa mixture then spinach. Repeat and serve!

Gluten Free Tip: This product is actually gluten free on top of being meatless! If you’re gluten sensitive or intolerant, feel free skip the tortilla and make this an awesome taco salad!

Nutrition: 380 calories and 31 g plant-based protein for both tacos.
