As a health coach, who is wildly passionate about teaching everybody on how to live a Cleaner and more Colorful life, one question I get all the time goes a little something like this…
I have a hard time finding fresh produce where I live sometimes, is frozen fruit good for you?”
And in short — the good news is, YES! Often it is, and in this video, I give you the quick 411 on why along with a few tips on how to use frozen fruit more often.
As a reminder, my goal is to teach 1 million people how to live a Clean & Colorful lifestyle. It is the one program that I feel anybody can do and everybody who does will in fact look better, feel better, naturally have more energy, reduce disease and probably even lose some weight. And it’s just 4 simple things to do every day. I call these the 4 Universal Diet Truths…
The Clean & Colorful Solution:
- Eat more whole food.
- Eat all 5 colors.
- Have a juice/smoothie
- Exercise 21+ minutes.
This video helps with the 2nd Universal Diet Truth because frozen blueberries are responsible for about 80% of my indigo consumption. Whether I toss them in the blender for a smoothie or in a bowl with yogurt or oatmeal. Depending on how the fruit is processed, it could also help with the first and if you toss them in the blender, number 3 as well. It’s so simple and they are delicious. Blueberries are packed with potent antioxidants, fiber and of course, color and flavor. And as another bonus…
Freezing Fruit Overcomes Barriers to Healthy Eating.
The other reason why I wanted to talk about frozen fruit this week is because it helps make healthy eating, easier! In my 2 decades of experience in the wellness space, I think there are pretty much 4 reasons people don’t eat “healthy.” And it looks like this:
- I don’t have the time.
- It’s too complicated.
- It’s too expensive.
- I don’t like it/I don’t want to.
Well viola — frozen fruit to the rescue! And here’s why…
- Frozen fruit is awesome because you can buy it in bulk and use over weeks or months. This saves you time in trips to the market for fresh produce.
- It’s simple to toss frozen fruit in smoothies, oatmeal, cereal, with yogurt, baked goods or even beverages as colorful/nutritious ice!
- If you have fresh produce that is about to go bad, you can chop it up and freeze it, preventing it from going bad. This saves you money!
- And let’s be honest, fruit makes boring oatmeal awesome and adds color, sweetness and variety to your every-day smoothies. Who doesn’t like that?
Of course, local and organic, fresh produce is likely a better option. But not always and if that’s not an option frozen fruit is a great way to add color to your life in a realistic manner. So if you have ever wondered…”is frozen fruit good for you?” hopefully this gives you all the answers. And really, who knew something so simple could solve so many problems?

Oh you are so in the clean Sara! A lot of times frozen can be better than fresh. Just make sure you don’t get any of those “fruit medleys” that have added sugar 🙂
